Extensions: In the world of VOIP an extension can be a desk or cordless phone. It can also be a softphone (app) installed on your device for remote working and people on the road. Your office may even span multiple locations.
Virtual Extensions: Want your number diverted to a mobile or alternative number. No problem a virtual extension offers this final choice
Working Hours: VOP systems can be pre-configured with your office hours and when the office is closed you can decide what to do with calls. Divert to voicemail is a common solution.

Modernisation from BT: In late 2020 BT announced it would be stopping all copper services by the end of 2025. The decision affects some types of broadband but importantly ALL analogue phone systems. You can no longer order these legacy systems and by December 2025 they will stop working all together.
